What is Alzheimer’s disease and what does that mean for my family?

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia, which is a serious loss of cognitive ability in a previously unaffected individual. There is currently no known cure for Alzheimer’s which may worsen over time and eventually leads to death. Alzheimer’s effects individuals in numerous forms including some of the following ways:

-forgetting to take your medication

-forgetting to turn off the stove

-not recognizing family members/ loved ones

-forgetting where you live and even forgetting your name and crucial information about yourself
